Ten Tins was born from a personal journey—one shaped by love, resilience, and the search for meaningful connection.
Founded by Nitin Bhat and Madhu Katta, Ten Tins is inspired by the experiences of Nitin, Madhu and their son, Adwaith, a young adult on the autism spectrum. Their story began in Boston, Massachusetts, where they spent years navigating the challenges and joys of neurodivergent life. Seeking a slower pace and deeper roots, they moved to Mangaluru, Karnataka—a change that brought with it new questions about community, purpose, and inclusion.
In Mangaluru, Nitin quickly recognized a lack of adaptive recreational opportunities—spaces where individuals with autism and other disabilities could not only participate, but truly belong. This gap became the spark for Ten Tins.
Ten Tins is more than just an initiative; it’s a movement toward adaptive recreation, creativity, and empowerment. Our mission is to create inclusive spaces and programs where neurodivergent individuals can engage, express, and thrive—on their own terms and at their own pace.
We believe in the power of play, exploration, and making things together. Whether through swim and gym, nature walks and beach relaxation, or hands-on activities, Ten Tins is a place where everyone’s abilities are celebrated.
Welcome to our story. Welcome to Ten Tins.
